Where the sidewalk ends

If any of you remember the Shel Silverstein poem, the place where the sidewalk ends and the street begins somewhat reminds me of Beirut. But only in the sense that things here are quite unpredictable, and it is difficult to know where the country will end up. Also because people seem to adapt to something normal lifestyles regardless of the chaos around them: no one really seems to know in what direction the country is going to go but according to someone I met here, they all seem to be doing well so far.

In any case, here begins my attempt to explain the place where the sidewalk ends in Beirut...which happens to be more than once place.

Enjoy!
